In a quiet day for news in the IoT and M2M world with the major news story being Indian services provider Mahindra and Texas Instruments teaming up to provide a research laboratory.

The laboratory will be based in India’s tech hub of Bengaluru, or Bangalore, and the lab’s work will focus on applying Internet of Things technologies to the Industrial, Medical and Automotive sectors.

“The Connected Engineering Solutions reflect our passion for innovating and bringing value to our customers and help them connect with their customers. We have established the TI Lab to complement TI’s silicon product/platform solutions with our design and systems integration capabilities,” said Tech Mahindra‘s Global Head of Integrated Engineering Solutions, Karthikeyan Natarajan.

Mahindra and Texas Instruments announcement follows yesterday news from Cisco Systems that they would be opening their North American IoT innovation lab in Toronto, Canada.
